I love the irreverent way The Root describes politics.

From the article:

Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin-on-Trump’s-nuts just can’t stop pass-blocking for his boo. Besides denying a request by Congress to turn over Trump’s tax documents, he’s now trying to delay revealing how much the Trump family has spent on presidential travel until after the 2020 election and Russia uses Facebook to put Trump back into office.

I was just watching Tucker Carlson when his British talking head (after trashing the evil Sodom and Gomorrah city of San Francisco) "reported" something to the effect of "The Socialist Democrat Bernie Sanders has one thing his opponents don't that will give him a huge advantage in the primary - money. It seems Bernie has over $375 thousand dollars at his disposal to fly to campaign events on private jets."

I was trying to calculate how much the Trump administration has spent on travel up to this point, but it so mind bogglingly large I gave up pretty quickly. He golfed 150 times in his first year and 77 in his second, and that's just for golf.

Add to that all of his family coming along for the ride on official business and you've got a pretty big number.

Taking a few numbers from an NBC article Tracking President Trump's visits to Trump properties from December 2017, which states that:

In February 2019, a new Government Accountability Office (GAO) report said that federal agencies incurred costs of about $13.6 million for the president's four trips to Mar-a-Lago from February 3 through March 5, 2017.

Trump's total has to be in the hundreds of millions.

Basically Trump and his state run propaganda cable channel are pulling a page from dirty tricks 101 - accuse your opponent for the very thing you've done, and make them defend themselves.

To add injury to insult, when Trump and his entourage go to any Trump property the U.S. government (basically tax payers) are paying Trump to stay at his own hotels...
