Yeah it was their shot at a Beatlesesque track...I also think it was their last hit (actually I know it was).

After seeing Curt's duet with his daughter doing Mad World (https://headcycle.com/h/music/comments/e225cc91597a/mad-world-performed-by-curt-smith-of-tears-for) I kind of went back and checked out Tears for Fears again.

Weird thing is I found that they were excellent song writers, and players/production, but they just didn't have a ton of stand out stuff besides:

Sowing the Seeds of Love

Shout

Everybody Wants to Rule the World

Going back though I realize how good at lyrics they really were.
