"We live in a box of space and time. Movies are windows in its walls. They allow us to enter other minds, not simply in the sense of identifying with the characters, although that is an important part of it, but by seeing the world as another person sees it."
-- Roger Ebert
This is probably only for hard core film geeks, but if you haven't seen L’Avventura, do, any way you can. It's a weirdly open ended story.
Basically it's about a woman who goes missing on a mediterranean island, and the attempts to find her yet she's never found. In fact she's sort of forgotten by the end of the movie.
It's slow as hell, and if you need a defined plot, this isn't for you. For those who love great film, watch it - it's great.
